Privacy Policy

This policy explains how personal data is handled on getselekt.com — the marketing website for Selekt, a photo- and video-proofing tool for photographers and videographers. It is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Czech law. The Selekt application itself (app.getselekt.com) — your account, uploaded photos and videos, client galleries and payments — is governed by the separate privacy terms shown in the app.
1. Who is responsible for your data

No data protection officer has been appointed, as none is required for this processing.
2. What we collect, why, and on what legal basis

Creating a Selekt account happens in the app, not on this site; what the app collects is described in the app's own privacy terms. If you are on the launch mailing list, every e-mail we send you will be marked as a commercial communication, will identify the sender, and will contain a working unsubscribe option, as required by Act No. 480/2004 Coll.
We do not sell your data, use it for automated decision-making or profiling with legal effects, or send you anything unrelated to Selekt.
3. Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers (processors) to run this site:

Where data leaves the EU/EEA, transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
4. How long we keep data
- Launch mailing list — until you unsubscribe, or at the latest 24 months after signup. The ipify service once used to record the IP address at signup is no longer in use; the IP addresses already recorded are kept only as consent records (see below). Unsubscribing is possible anytime via the link in any e-mail or by writing to support@getselekt.com.
- Newsletter — until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent; an unconfirmed signup is deleted after 30 days.
- Consent records (e-mail, IP or hashed IP, timestamp) — up to 3 years after the consent ends, kept solely as evidence of lawful processing.
- Messages you send us (support@getselekt.com) — for as long as needed to handle your request, at most 24 months.
- Analytics data — retained in Google Analytics for a maximum of 14 months.
- Technical logs — retained by our hosting provider for a short rolling period.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- have inaccurate data corrected,
- have your data erased ("right to be forgotten"),
- restrict processing,
- receive your data in a portable format,
- object to processing based on legitimate interest,
- withdraw consent at any time — this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech supervisory authority: Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (ÚOOÚ), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, Czech Republic — uoou.gov.cz.
6. Cookies & local storage
This site loads measurement tags through Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager itself sets no cookies; the tags it manages may set analytics and advertising cookies — but only with your consent. Alongside that, the site sets one strictly necessary cookie:

Analytics and advertising cookies are set only after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. We use Google Consent Mode v2 with all consent signals denied by default: until (and unless) you accept, Google tags set no cookies and process no ad identifiers. Declining is one click and the site works identically without them. The exact set of cookies depends on which measurement tags are active; the table above lists the cookies currently in use. You can change your mind anytime:
Clicking the button withdraws your consent (every category set back to denied, on this site and in the Selekt app) and shows the cookie banner again. To remove already-set Google cookies, also clear cookies for this site in your browser. More about Google's processing: policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Children
This website is not directed at children. In line with Czech law, consent-based processing on this site is intended for persons aged 15 or older. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy — for example when we change the measurement tools on this site or the way it links to the Selekt application. Purchases of Selekt Pro are made in the app through Paddle.com, our authorised reseller and merchant of record; Paddle and we act as independent data controllers of the data needed for a purchase, and Paddle's own privacy policy applies to the checkout. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on this page or announced by e-mail to registered users.
