Privacy Policy

This policy explains how personal data is handled on getselekt.com — the website and pre-launch waitlist for Selekt, a photo-proofing tool for photographers and videographers. It is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Czech law. When the Selekt application launches, a separate, more detailed policy will govern the app itself.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is:

No data protection officer has been appointed, as none is required for this processing.
2. What we collect, why, and on what legal basis

Joining the waitlist is entirely voluntary. Every e-mail we send you will be marked as a commercial communication, will identify the sender, and will contain a working unsubscribe option, as required by Act No. 480/2004 Coll.
We do not sell your data, use it for automated decision-making or profiling with legal effects, or send you anything unrelated to Selekt.
3. Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers (processors) to run this site:

Where data leaves the EU/EEA, transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
4. How long we keep data
- Waitlist data — until you unsubscribe, or at the latest 24 months after collection if the product has not launched and you have not become a user. Unsubscribing is possible anytime via the link in any e-mail or by writing to support@getselekt.com.
- Consent records (e-mail, IP, timestamp) — up to 3 years after the consent ends, kept solely as evidence of lawful processing.
- Analytics data — retained in Google Analytics for a maximum of 14 months.
- Technical logs — retained by our hosting provider for a short rolling period.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- have inaccurate data corrected,
- have your data erased ("right to be forgotten"),
- restrict processing,
- receive your data in a portable format,
- object to processing based on legitimate interest,
- withdraw consent at any time — this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Czech supervisory authority: Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (ÚOOÚ), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, Czech Republic — uoou.gov.cz.

Analytics cookies are set only after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. Declining is one click and the site works identically without them. You can change your mind anytime:

7. Children
This website and waitlist are not directed at children. In line with Czech law, consent-based signup is intended for persons aged 15 or older. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy — for example when the Selekt application launches, which will introduce additional processing (accounts, uploaded photos, payments handled by Paddle as merchant of record). The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on this page or announced by e-mail to the waitlist.
